To set up your mobile hotspot on any smartphone is one of the cheapest things to do. Meanwhile, they’re people who are unaware of this life-saving technique even though they’ve incorporated hotspots into almost all smartphones for ages! A mobile hotspot is a wonderful android and IOS feature that allows you to share your network’s data connection with another device, finding it difficult to use their normal data network. These Mobile devices could be smartphones, PC, tablets, iPads, and Mac. So if you find it difficult to set up your mobile hotspot, you’re reading the right article, let’s go.
5 Quick Steps to Setup Your Hotspot on Android
You should be aware that the procedures to follow are a bit different with different smartphones because of the different smartphone models available. Nevertheless, it is still similar, so you’ll still get it even if your smartphone is quite different from the Android 10 model I’ll use in this article.
- First off, tab on your settings and choose Wi-Fi and Internet at the top. The majority of the hotspot is found in the Wi-Fi settings, though smartphones’ OEM varies.

- You’ll see Hotspot and Tethering next, tap on it, the phone might be quite different, you’ll still see something similar to Hotspot.

- Next you’ll see Wi-Fi Hotspot on top, choose it, since it’s our focus.

- Now it’s time to set up your mobile hotspot. You can set up your name, password, and everything that has to do with the Wi-Fi hotspot.

N.B; most smartphones Wi-Fi hotspot comes with an existing name and password, so no need to be perplexed if yours appear like that. All you’ll have to do is change the existing name and password.
- Another thing you’ll notice is the AP Band is either in 4 GHz or 5 GHz, if you’re sharing with someone having issues with connectivity to their network, keep it at 2.4 GHz. If you’re in a crowded place with Wi-Fi traffic, 5 GHz is perfect, although it has a short-range.
Creating Mobile Hotspot on IOS
- You’ll start by navigating to Settings.
- Then proceed to Cellular and select the Cellular Data Network.
- You’ll notice the Personal Hotspot as you stroll down, click on it and from here you can set up your preferred name, password, and APN.
- Return to the Cellular Network section, you’ll find the newly set up Personal Hotspot, click on it, at the spot.
- At this junction, you can switch on the Hotspot which means you’re good to go! You’ve successfully set up your mobile hotspot and it’s up and running now!.
Please note that you’ve to use a strong password, preferably, a password combination of alphaNumeric.

On a final note, using your mobile hotspot requires data and it doesn’t work on just any data plan. Make sure you have a good data plan before you switch on the hotspot for others to share. Also, hotspots are recommendable for light workload alone.
